Safran continues to lead the way in GNSS innovation with the release of Skydel 25.4, a major update to its industry-trusted GNSS simulation platform. Tailored to meet the complex needs of aerospace, defense, and automotive professionals, this latest version introduces a suite of advanced features designed to enhance simulation realism, flexibility, and control.
Among the most anticipated upgrades is Custom Constellation, giving users the ability to define and simulate their own satellite network – supporting up to 400 satellites for unparalleled scenario customization. This is a game-changer for testing novel constellations, low-Earth orbit (LEO) deployments, and future GNSS architectures.
Skydel 25.4 also introduces a suite of advanced features that elevate GNSS simulation to new levels of precision and realism. “With XONA’s latest X5 Signal Support, the solution marks a major step forward, with Phase 1 integration now accessible through the PULSAR menu” explains Guillaume Obry, GNSS Product Manager. “Supporting next-gen LEO navigation signals, Skydel now handles all Xona signals and enables the simulation of all PULSAR satellites.
For enhanced system integration, the new Advanced IMU Serial Interface allows users to log IMU data via serial ports. Additionally, the signal selection dialogs have been updated for a more streamlined configuration experience; all signals are now displayed simultaneously, organized by constellation, with dedicated tabs for GNSS, interference, and IQ playback in the main window. The new IQ Playback feature — available with the SKY-IQPLAY license — allows users to replay previously recorded IQ files directly as an output. This capability is ideal for validation, troubleshooting, and recreating real-world scenarios in a controlled environment.
Finally, Basic Jamming has added new interference types (BOC, BPSK, and AWGN) and is also included for users equipped with the Advanced Jamming license.
