NTT DoCoMo supports sales of Drones with LTE Communication function & development of new services
Aerosense is participating in NTT DoCoMo’s “docomo sky Cellular Drone Partner Program,” which aims to create new service value for drones that utilize LTE aerial use plans. Through this alliance, NTT DoCoMo will support the sale of Aerosense aircraft equipped with LTE communication functions and the development of new services, and will strengthen the cooperation between the two companies.
Participation in this program is aimed at social implementation of drones in out-of-sight flight (level 4) in manned areas. Aerosense sells the first domestically produced drone with a built-in LTE communication function, and this program is expected to make it easier to use the drone for applications that require the LTE communication function. .. In particular, we expect to provide a wide range of solutions to people who want to utilize them for applications such as drug delivery and remote monitoring in the event of a disaster, which will lead to the creation of new added value for drones.
Aerosense is exhibiting drones equipped with LTE communication functions at the “7th International Drone Exhibition” to be held at the Tokyo Big Sight Aomi Exhibition Building from today .

Aerosense plans to participate in this program as follows.
・ Package services by specific industry and application
We are planning to develop packages so that we can centrally introduce the most suitable drone aircraft and services according to each industry and application. As the first step, NTT DoCoMo will start offering the “docomo sky drug delivery package” that specializes in drug delivery and the “docomo sky wide area disaster countermeasure package” that can be effectively used as a disaster countermeasure.
Aerosense will propose a general-purpose rotary wing drone Aerobo AS-MC03-LTE or a vertical takeoff and landing fixed-wing fixed-wing drone Aerobowing AS-VT01 for each package.
There are two ways to provide packages from NTT DoCoMo: trial type and purchase type for customers who operate in-house, and you can select according to your purpose.

In the conventional drone communication, the communication distance of the operating terminal was limited, but in the drone equipped with the LTE communication function, the communication distance is not restricted. Therefore, by relaying the LTE communication base station, the drone can be operated in a wider range, and the operation operator can control the drone from anywhere. Therefore, it is expected to be a means to solve recent social issues such as wide area damage investigation in the event of a disaster, long-distance delivery in depopulated areas, and large-scale ICT construction.
