Hexagon, the global leader in measurement technologies, is supporting one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in the world, equipping Skanska with surveying solutions needed to construct Project Rogfast, a 27-kilometre subsea tunnel that will be the longest and deepest of its kind.
Running 392 metres below sea level, the tunnel will connect the cities of Stavanger, Haugesund, and Bergen, helping to cut travel time by 50% and strengthening economic links in the oil and gas sector. Skanska integrates Hexagon’s geospatial and construction solutions to deliver the project accurately, safely, and sustainably.
Project Rogfast poses extraordinary engineering challenges, including tunnelling from both ends to meet within a 5-centimetre margin of error. Even a small misalignment can cause massive rework and waste. Hexagon’s portfolio of Leica Geosystems solutions ensures every surveyor, excavator, and drill operates with high-confidence accuracy, allowing the project to proceed without interruption.
