KPGU, Vadodara collaborate with IG Drones to develop a world-class Drone Ecosystem in India

Collaboration to develop a world-class Drone Ecosystem in India through education & training infrastructure with the aim of upskilling youngsters

Drs. Kiran & Pallavi Patel Global University (KPGU) a leading educational organization imparting holistic education to students have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IG Drones, the India’s leading Enterprise Drone Solution provider for mapping & inspection and drone surveying by industry experts to build a ‘Drone Centre of Excellence’ in India.

Drone Ecosystem in India

The MoU signed between both the parties to establish a Drone Ecosystem in India complies with the recently drafted provisions of the National Education Policy, which has expanded the scope and awareness for imparting drone technology information for people of various age groups through vocational courses.

As part of this MoU, signed on Jan 31 between IG Drones’ CEO, Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya and Prof. (Dr.) Kehul Shah, Registrar, Drs. Kiran & Pallavi Patel Global University (KPGU) have collaborated to synchronise the education and training infrastructure with the aim of upskilling youngsters to make them ready for the industry in the future and to boost the Drone Ecosystem in India.

The Drone Centre of Excellence (CoE) is an initiative of IG Drones to educate more than 10 million students about the drone technology. The skill development programmes offered by IG Drones aimed at making India self-sufficient and world’s next Drone Manufacturing Hub. Aligned to the government’s AtmaNirbhar Bharat and Skill India initiatives, this centre will not only upskill but also empower the drone industry youth and India’s drone ecosystem with advanced drone technology.

According to a PwC analysis, India is the world’s fastest-growing drone market gaining significant traction with sales expected to reach $885 million by 2021. It is predicted that the drone market in India to reach $1,810 million by FY 2026, representing a 14.61 per cent CAGR. With this growing attention it is important to educate the youth of India about UAV or Drone technology so that they can skill and excel themselves while developing new innovation and ideas with more interest and enthusiasm.

A Center of Excellence is the most effective approach to accomplish this goal of making India a drone hub. It will train and foster the skills of students through imparting them industry knowledge making them more aware about the industry, upcoming trends and technological awareness while giving placement opportunities in the same industry. The government is also focusing towards the Drone Ecosystem in India. The Drone Budget 2022 with ‘Drone Shakti’ initiative and PLI Incentive scheme to help the drone startup have paved a way for making India to be the world’s Drone Hub in the near future.
