Pendulum Instruments, a global expert in time and frequency measurement, analysis, and calibration, announced the new CNT-104R Multi-channel Rubidium Frequency Calibrator/Analyzer.
Expanding Pendulum’s Multi-channel Frequency Analyzer (MFA) family, the CNT-104R is the third instrument in the series, supporting parallel and independent time/frequency measurements in a bench-top format. All key capabilities from the pioneering and award winning 4-channel CNT-104S MFA have been inherited, including simultaneous and gap-free measurements of Frequency, Period, Time Interval Error, Pulse Width, Rise/Fall time, Slew Rate, Totalize and Voltage measurements. New functionality added in CNT-104R is a built-in Rubidium atomic clock, and an optional GNSS receiver for discipling the Rubidium clock and eliminate all frequency drift. Standard input frequency range is up to 400 MHz and an optional RF input extends bandwidth up to 24 GHz.
The new instrument is targeted for high-end metrology and combines an ultra-stable Rubidium Frequency Reference with a multi-channel Frequency Analyzer. It provides a one-box solution for ultra-accurate Frequency, and also Time, calibration, and is therefore very suited for portable use, between labs, inside a factory site, and between sites. The accuracy for Frequency calibration is <1E-11 and the accuracy for time calibration is < 10ns to UTC.
One CNT-104R, with its 4 independent gap-free timestamping measurement channels can replace 5 legacy instruments; four Timer/Counters and one Rubidium Frequency Reference. It is “5-instruments-in-a-box”. Prices start from $16k.
