Geotab selected as the Telematics provider for the State of Oklahoma

Geotab has been selected as the telematics provider for the State of Oklahoma. In line with the Office of the Governor’s executive order to better understand and improve the utilization of the state’s fleet, Geotab’s award-winning technology will be equipped in all of the state’s vehicles.

“Being selected as the State of Oklahoma’s chosen telematics provider helps to reaffirm Geotab’s position as a trusted leader preferred by federal, state and local government agencies throughout the U.S.,” said Neil Cawse, CEO at Geotab. “We are confident that this contract will not only help meet the state’s executive order but will also pave the way for other government entities within the State of Oklahoma to leverage this contract to better optimize their fleet operations.”

At the beginning of 2020, the Oklahoma Governor’s Office issued an executive order mandating that all state vehicles must be equipped with telematics technology and placed on the state’s Fleet Management Information System (FMIS), AssetWorks FleetFocus Management Software , M5. In order to help monitor frequency of vehicle use, mileage driven and more, Geotab has seamlessly integrated with the FMIS, feeding telematics data directly to the M5 system. In addition, this contract will equip state agencies with access to the MyGeotab platform to provide additional data-driven fleet insights that go beyond fleet utilization.

Going beyond the executive order requirements of improving fleet utilization, Geotab’s open platform solution is capable of helping the state achieve additional goals including improving driver safety and efficiency, enabling intelligent and strategic fleet electrification, optimizing winter operations and much more,” added Neil Garrett, Associate Vice President of Business Development, Government at Geotab. “Going one step further, other government entities outside of the state are able to take advantage of this contract and use the buying power of the state to equip their fleet with Geotab’s telematics platform.”

With a standing reputation as the chosen solution provider for all levels of government across North America, Geotab has validated its ability to meet stringent security requirements to provide government fleets with its industry leading telematics offering. In March 2019, Geotab announced that the General Service Administration awarded the company the largest telematics contract in history, which led to the achievement of becoming the first telematics company to achieve FIPS 140-2 validation for its cryptographic library. Most recently, Geotab achieved FedRAMP and ISO 27001 certifications for its telematics platform, reinforcing the company’s ability to meet the highest standard of cybersecurity requirements.
