SkyTraq reveals Automotive-Grade Dual-Use Dead Reckoning Receiver

SkyTraq Technology sets a new benchmark for dead-reckoning solution suitable for both automotive pre-installation and aftermarket. The highly-robust PX1120D module integrates a 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) and a concurrent quad-GNSS chipset forming sensor fusion solution maximizing position accuracy even in challenging environments.

For automotive pre-installation applications where vehicle wheel-tick signal is available, automotive dead-reckoning (ADR) GNSS / IMU / wheel-tick sensor-fusion solution is formed. In aftermarket applications where wheel-tick signal is unavailable, untethered dead-reckoning (UDR) GNSS / IMU sensor-fusion solution is formed. A single PX1120D module provides both ADR and UDR functionality simplifying product company’s logistics. The PX1120D provides 100% position coverage; ideal for electrical vehicle infotainment system, telematics control unit, vehicle tracking, and ADAS applications requiring highest performance, reliability, and uninterrupted positioning.

The PX1120D supports flexible mounting in any orientation. Its auto-calibration feature greatly simplifies installation procedure. Short calibration time and exceptional concurrent GPS / GLONASS / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS navigation performance much improves user experience.

The 12mm x 16mm size PX1120D offers continuous navigation in tunnels and underground parking lot. Able to output attitude, gyroscope and accelerometer sensor data, it is also useful for vehicle black-box driver behavior monitoring and vehicle insurance accident reconstruction.

The PX1120D uses AEC-Q100 qualified chipset and is manufactured in ISO/TS-16949 certified plants. Engineering sample, evaluation kit, and datasheet are available in late August. Volume delivery to customers begins Q4 2021.
